How to beat sugar cravings
First things first, sugar is not the devil 👿 you might think that, but we need sugar and we are able to eat it so don’t demonise it completely, however we don’t want to over do it either.
The daily recommend amount is:
Men: 40 -50 grams or 10 teaspoons) Women: 25 -35 grams or 7 teaspoons)

We all have sugar cravings & crave something sweet!
Tips to beat sugar cravings
You don’t have to starve yourself when you cut out sugar so replace the high sugar foods with lower sugar foods –
Protein bars , dark chocolate with almond butter , berries & fruit , yogurt with low sugar drops/syrups , nuts roasted with salt, banana with cinnamon & seeds , fruit with almond butter.
Hydrate – hunger or cravings can be mistaken for thirst, drink water throughout the day, especially between meals.
Eat enough protein, good fats and fibre – these will all keep you feeling satisfied and keep cravings down.
Sleep – Poor sleep will elevate blood sugar levels ,& can also lead to elevated cortisol levels which can lead to high stress levels which could lead to emotional /stress eating.
If you have a poor nights sleep, try and fast for (just for a few hours) to bring blood sugars down.
